Miraculously retaining its comic timing and timeless wit more than a century later, Jerome K. Jerome's Three Men in a Boat (To Say Nothing of the Dog) was originally published as a hilarious novel in 1889. Written as a travelogue, the lively story tells of three young men -- and a devoted terrier named Montmorency (played here by ... well, not a dog) -- on a boating holiday that quickly devolves into a series of absurd misadventures. Directed by Derek Goldman (and featuring D.C. theater favorites Tim Getman, Tom Story, Rob Jansen and Alex Mills), this adaptation brings to life one of the funniest novels of all time in a must-see show. This company specializes in turning Shakespeare on it's head! Beautifully acted, directed and costumed. I heard it tell, they went for actual Jitter-bug lessons authenticating the dances, especially the rousing finale. The audience was handclapping and on their feet! Love the sense of humor of director&choreographer Paata and Irina!
