Topher Payne, Atlanta's "best local playwright" (Creative Loafing, The GA Voice), sets this raucous satire in 1950s Washington, D.C., where a State Department official and his secretary -- both gay and both locked firmly in the closet -- have been tasked with ferreting out homosexuals in the department. To avoid detection, they've come up with what seems like the Perfect Arrangement: they've married each others' partners. But their sitcom-like situation may come crashing down around them when an employee discovers their deception. The play was originally developed at The Process Theatre and now returns after a hit run at D.C.'s Source Festival and winning the 2014 Osborn New Play Award from the American Theatre Critics Association. The play was very entertaining. Several friends had been going since it started. This was the 4th year. This was the first time I had used Goldstar and the first time my friends had used it for this event. Not pleased with the seating and it seemed to be related to buying through Goldstar.

The Show was good and I'm a huge advocate for this theatre. As a matter of fact, I must have referred a dozen people to see it. However, DO NOT book through Goldstar for this theatre. The put you in the LAST ROW no matter how early you booked.
From the same guys that brought you _The ___Golden Girls Live__ comes Designing Women Live. Let the hilarity ensue as Dewayne Morgan, Johnny Drago, Spencer Stephens and Topher Payne bring to life your favorite Atlanta ladies Julia, Suzanne, Mary Jo and Charlene.
The designing women of Sugarbaker’s are brought back to life by a cast of men in two brand new stage adaptations!
Episode 1 – “Foreign Affairs:” Suzanne doesn’t think Consuela can pass her citizenship test, so she pays Anthony to impersonate her.
Episode 2 – “The Rowdy Girls:” Charlene’s cousin Mavis coaches the ladies for an upcoming talent show, where they will be playing the Supremes.
