The Basement Players offer a wide range of improv antics, taking advantage of a bunch of different games, not to mention both Chicago-style long and short scene formats, most based on audience suggestions. The Basement Theatre is located -- as the name indicates -- in the downstairs area underneath a colorful bar. It's a charming and intimate black-box theater space that's kind of a hidden gem, so look for the sign on the street and the lighted arrows that point the way to lots of laughs. We had a great time. It was a very small venue but that lead to very personal attention from the cast. Will definitely go again.

Great time for my whole family - late teen/early 20's kids, and my wife and I. The later shows can be PG-13 at times, but we knew that - having been here before. Very casual, good prices on snacks and drinks, great service.

Chicago-Style Improv Comedy -- Different suggestions fuel a variety of formats. Rated R.

Down in the Basement — Each show features two distinct improv styles.  Two shows for one price! Always inspired by audience suggestions, and always 100 percent improvised!

Improv Blender — The Basement Players perform a mix of styles -- all 100% improvised and based on audience suggestions. They take suggestions from the audience to inspire their scenes. The formats are changed from week to week to allow the returning audience a brand new experience and to see the Basement players stretch their acting legs into new territories.

3 Way — It starts with one suggestion and three players. From there, who knows where it'll go! Fast and fun!

Pot Lucky — You put in the ingredients ... the players cook up the scenes!
Scrambled Eggs — A dozen suggestions ... 30 minutes on an egg timer.... scramble!
