In this new musical version of the Peter Pan story, Peter's not the only one who won't grow up. Wendy's having trouble coming to terms with moving out of her childhood room and putting on adult clothes when she still wants to play. She gets to put off being a grown up a while longer when the daring Peter Pan comes along to whisk her away to the magical island of Neverland, where children never grow up. With the help of Tinkerbell, the Lost Boys, Tiger Lily, mermaids, and a rather dedicated crocodile, Peter and Wendy battle the dreaded -- but extremely funny -- Captain Hook. In this swashbuckling adventure, which includes opportunities for audience participation, our heroes must decide if growing up is really all that bad after all. Learn More

I am a regular theater goer and left at intermission, it was that bad. The normally not-so-great acoustics at the Fox were the worse I have ever experienced. The children in the audience were very poorly behaved and the parents did nothing to quiet them. The vocal talent in the show was lacking. If you love noisy children, not being able to hear half the show and bathroom humor this one is for you. There is a reason it closed on broadway after only one year. This is not a broadway show of the caliber of Lion King or Mary Poppins.
Quotes & Highlights
Shrek the Musical, based on the Oscar®-winning DreamWorks film that started it all, brings the hilarious story of everyone’s favorite ogre to life the stage.
In a faraway kingdom turned upside down, things get ugly when an unseemly ogre – not a handsome prince – shows up to rescue a feisty princess. Throw in a donkey who won’t shut up, a villain with a short temper, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there’s one on hand… and his name is Shrek.
Featuring a terrific score of 19 all-new songs, big laughs, great dancing and breathtaking scenery, Shrek the Musical is part romance, part twisted fairy tale and all irreverent fun for everyone!
