Born in Brazil of Lebanese ancestry, Grammy-winning brothers Sérgio and Odair Assad are true classical-guitar innovators, who the Washington Post
calls "the best two-guitar team in existence, maybe in history." They're known for their eclectic repertoire, which includes Sérgio's original Latin, folk and jazz-flavored compositions, along with contemporary works, chamber-music settings and much more. In fact, Sérgio has been nominated three times for Best Contemporary Composition at the Latin Grammys, and won once, while the brothers both took home the Best Tango Album award for Sérgio and Odair Assad Play Piazzolla
. Their amazing list of collaborators includes cellist Yo-Yo Ma, soprano Dawn Upshaw, jazz reedman Paquito D'Rivera, and violinists Gidon Kremer and Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg.
