With a VIP Experience featuring wine, beer and cocktails; a family food zone with hands-on activities for the kids; and a main stage featuring TV-style cooking battles, there's plenty of excitement to fill your plate. Now entering its second decade, the Southeast's premier food festival will also host live demos from top Atlanta chefs in five live cooking ares. Among those set to appear this year are Ford Fry of JCT Kitchen, Chris Hall of Local Three, Archna Becker from Bhojanic Indian Restaurant and many more.

One Night With Janis Joplin adds some actual Fourth of July fireworks to the musical ones produced on stage, with a post-show barbeque buffet on the Arena Stage terrace -- a prime viewing spot for the famed pyrotechnics launched on the National Mall. First up is the show, a part-concert, part-theatrical event that captures Janis Joplin's life and legacy in all its live intensity. Mary Bridget Davies stars as the rock legend in a performance that has audiences dancing in the aisles and critics raving. Featuring powerful musical numbers including "Piece of My Heart, "Summertime" and "Mercedes Benz," as well as one song Joplin never formally recorded, One Night boasts a full band and a cast including Sabrina Elayne Carten, who plays Bessie Smith, Etta James, Aretha Franklin and Nina Simone. There was a great selection of vendors and the food was wonderful. The VIP was well worth the extra money!!

Disappointed about the "VIP" experience. Arrived around 1:30 pm and already all the give-aways for VIP attendants were all depleted. The food service for the VIP section was very limited and exxxxtttrreeemmllllyyy slow. Luckily the bartenders and competition saved what was left to save about the experience.

Overall the Taste event was fun itself, but the value received vs. what was paid for a VIP experience did not match up.

Wonderful way to sample a variety of Atlanta's most famous dining as well as some that are best kept secrets! The only disappointment was that some restaurants ran out of items (particularly seafoods)... But other than that, it was GREAT...
