100 years after one of the most famous disasters in history, Fabrefaction Theatre Company presents the five-time Tony winner, Titanic: The Musical, with music and lyrics by Maury Yeston (Nine) and a book by Peter Stone (1776, Will Rogers Follies). The musical is set on the ill-fated ocean liner RMS Titanic, which sank on its maiden voyage in the early morning hours of April 15, 1912. Titanic: The Musical tells the story of that disastrous voyage from the points of view of both crew and passengers. Drawing on actual historical figures present on the ship in 1912, Titanic: The Musical touches on issues such as class, immigration and mankind's vulnerability in the face of nature. The rich variety of characters, from the lowly stoker to the captain, from the third class passengers to the millionaires in first class, all serve as an ensemble surrounding the main character of the musical - the great ship Titanic.

The (for the most part) youthful cast did a remarkable job of bringing to life the glamour, pathos and ultimate tragedy that was the Titanic. The music was amazingly good and the costumes would have done Vegas proud. Bravo!

I had never heard of Fabrefaction Theater before but, after attending their production of Titanic, I will definitely attend many more shows. They have assembled a wonderful cast and have produced an extremely moving version of this show. When the entire cast blends their voices in the many anthems of the show, the sound is truly amazing. Do not miss this show!!

Always wanted to see this musical. I am a theatre writer myself and Act One has some musical "no-no"s such as too many characters so it's hard to focus and care for anyone BUT Act Two is so tight and riveting that all I can say is "see it, See It, SEE IT!" That cast is top notch and though the set design is sparce the direction and acting fills in all the visual space. Very innovative and ambitious for a small community theatre to take on.
