Some plays can be summed up in an image, others a phrase, but only one masterpiece can be summarized with a scream: "Stelllaaa!!!" That masterpiece, of course, is A Streetcar Named Desire, the Pulitzer-winning drama by Tennessee Williams. Set during a steamy summer in New Orleans' French Quarter, a vulnerable Blanche DuBois seeks shelter at the apartment of her pregnant sister Stella and Stella's husband Stanley. Fragile Blanche and brutish Stanley immediately clash and tensions only escalate when the two are left alone in the house after Stella heads to the hospital to give birth. Famously adapted into a feature film featuring Marlon Brando and Vivien Leigh, A Streetcar Named Desire makes a triumphant return to the stage in an exciting new production from Vintage Theatre. The cast and set were amazing. The only drawback that I saw was that there were a few moments of "dead air" between scenes occasionally, but it was due to the set changes behind the curtain. As a Young Frankenstein movie fan, I was afrad that the play would not be very exciting, but the animated cast made the entire stage entertaining in every scene. I was concerned that this movie would not translate well into a musical, since "Putting on the Ritz" was the only song in the original, but I really enjoyed a lot of the songs added, including "Roll in the Hay" and He Was My Boyfriend". Everyone involved did a great job!

I loved it! I had never been to this theater before, and was not expecting such a professional experience. The singing, dancing, staging, costumes and acting were way above my expectations, and deliciously enjoyable. I have even recommended it to...continued
About the Ticket Supplier: Vintage TheatreVintage Theatre Productions was founded by Craig Bond and friends in August 2002, over martinis. This evening spent with friends launched our mission to bring the best quality theatre to the Front Range! We entered our space on 17th Avenue in 2008 and temained there for four years as we grew our company artistically. In March 2012 we decided to purchase our new location at 1468 Dayton St Aurora 80010, joining the Aurora Arts District.
We staged two shows the first year, nine in 2012...and now have three performance spaces under one roof with the Jeffrey Nickelson Auditiorium (145 seats), the Bond Trimble Theatre (67 Seats) and our lobby raised stage (60 seats). All areas are completely sound proofed, air conditioned, and provide a full bar service. And of course free parking!
