Back by popular demand in 2013, the Ladies will be joined by pop trio Ben Folds Five, acoustic-pop threesome Guster and special guest Boothby Graffoe for their stop at The Greek Theatre. Barenaked Ladies are celebrating their 25th anniversary and a career that includes eight Juno Awards, multiple Grammy nominations and more than 14 million albums sold worldwide. Jam along to the latest songs from their recent release, Grinning Streak, and their biggest hits, including their No. 1 tune "One Week," "Pinch Me," "Brian Wilson," "If I Had $1,000,000" and the theme song to the TV series The Big Bang Theory. view more less of this reviewLL always exceeds expectations. Even though one moron loudly derided him for being "ugly", he cheerily engaged in repartee that seemed tailored specifically to the Baltimore audience. The touring band shined, although a plexiglass divider between drummer Russ Kunkel may have been in order given the "intimate" venue. A mere quibble on an otherwise neurotically flawless LL performance.
star this review starred report as inappropriateLyle Lovett is an amazing performer. He always surrounds himself with incredible musicians and the arrangements are tight. He has a folksy way of chatting with the audience, but mostly we get lots of music. The show started about 8pm and ended at 10:40.
As I said to my friend, "Lyle always gives more than our money's worth". I should have added, "much, much more". It was a wonderful concert.
star this review starred report as inappropriateIf I could give this event six stars I would. I bought tickets because my husband is a big fan. Me, I thought I could take it or leave it. I am so glad I went. Lyle Lovett is a wonderful host as well as musician, and his backup performers were each excellent in their own right. I was moved at times to tears, then to laughter and joy, all because of the enthusiasm and full heart of these performers. They played for over two hours. The great audience completed a great evening!
