It's The Nutcracker as you've never seen it before. There's not a sugarplum fairy in sight in this new family comedy version of E.T.A. Hoffmann's holiday classic, which adapts the magical tale using the fun, interactive conventions of a British pantomime. The "panto" is a participatory form of musical comedy designed for families and commonly performed during the Christmas and New Year season in which the audience interacts with the characters and shouts out phrases to the performers. From a seven-headed rat king to Dame Drosselmeier (sporting an official "Hampden Hon" beehive hairdo) and the chance for audience members -- that's you! -- to fight alongside the Nutcracker, The Factory's take on this crowd-pleasing classic is truly a unique holiday treat not to be missed.
