An exceptional production of a thought-provoking and insightful play.
I saw this show in New York (twice) and was curious to see if it "held up" in a smaller venue, and this company was superb. The clarity, precision and tone of the play worked beautifully, and each individual performance had nuance and power. I was pleased that the Baltimore audience was willing to experience the intentional discomfort of the play, and
that the (sometimes very adult) dialogue seemed to be accepted as truthful for these characters and this story : no obvious tuning out due to "inappropriate" language.
I love that Center Stage has challenged the audience (and themselves) and will continue to do so! I look forward to BENEATHA'S PLACE, to get another POV on America's ongoing conversation about culture, race, gender and what Our Future holds.

The Pulitzer Prize-winning drama taking America by storm. Picking up where Lorraine Hansberry left off in her landmark A_ Raisin in the Sun_ (2001-02 Season), The New York Times called the riotous Clybourne Park a “darkly humorous… dissection of race, gentrification and real estate.”
