Coffee makes my brain go WHEEEEE!!!

The event itself was fine. I like soccer, and this was a chance for overseas teams to play in a setting where the public can see them for not an exspensive price.

Myself and some friends went to see a Crystal Palace soccer game in Baltimore. The weather was perfect and the home team won. Perfect evening.

More Details About This Event:

Similar to Major League Baseball's "farm system," Crystal Palace USA was created as a feeder organization to the world-renowned Crystal Palace Football Club in the UK. The year 2007 was the club's inaugural season. After a poor start, the team climbed up the table, losing only two of its final 16 matches. They ended the season in fifth spot, just one win from making the playoffs, beating the eventual USL2 champion Harrisburg Islanders. The club has re-signed the majority of the players from last season and expects to contend for the title of USL2 champions in 2008.

Crystal Palace Football Club (UK) is a $100-million company founded in 1905 in south London. Crystal Palace UK chairman Simon Jordan saw an opportunity not only to develop the footprint of Crystal Palace worldwide, but more specifically to tap into the underappreciated pool of American soccer talent. His brother, vice chairman Dominic Jordan, oversees operations in the USA, including the movement of players between the two clubs.

UMBC Stadium has a capacity of 3,800, expandable to 5,500 with temporary bleachers. The playing surface consists of 90,000 square feet of Sportexe Momentum Turf, the same artificial turf that's installed at M&T Bank Stadium, home of the Baltimore Ravens.

About UMBC Soccer Stadium:

UMBC Soccer Stadium was completed in the fall of 1998 and its addition gives the soccer teams the ability to practice or play on its lush grass surface. The field has a sprinkler system and is much larger than UMBC's former grass field, stretching 120 yards in length and 70 yards in width. The field, situated adjacent to the Stadium, features a press box, new scoreboard, and concession areas.
