Written on Feb 11 2013Very Funny Guy! Did go off on a lot of weird animal jokes, that went a little long....
Would see again for sure.
Enjoyed the two "warm up" comedians also.
Venue is very clean, employees are professinal and friendly.
Written on Feb 11 2013Bryan Callen did not disappoint! He was very funny and engaging with the audience. The Parlor is a good location, but you have to wait in a long line to get seats and the wait staff is not great. It takes forever to order a drink so order two at a time if you think you'll want more than one. Also, you have to pay for water which isn't nice.
Written on Feb 11 2013First off, Bryan Callen was great! He was energetic and hilarious. He kept us engaged in his wild stories and funny impersonations. He even got a lil' intimate with the crowd. Having said all that, it is with huge disappointment that I have to report this venue was the worst experience I've ever attended.
We flew in from Los Angeles and took the taxi ride from Seattle to Bellevue. Once we entered the Parlor Live Comedy Club we were met with the most unorganized, unprofessional, inexperienced staff of all time! From check-in to the over 1 1/2 hour wait in line (show started time was 10pm, didn't get until after 11 pm) the experience was horrible. This place is also a billiard/club located in a shopping mall. So, there were lines everywhere.
After the extremely long wait in a dark, and hot, hallway leading into the comedy club, we noticed that most patrons who were equally displeased were seated along the sides of the club, leaving the center seats unoccupied for "reserved seating". I checked my Goldstar ticket information and could see that seating was listed under "Center / Side". This ambiguity was not in favor of preferred seating for the masses. The extremely rude staff commenced to pack us in like cattle in a series of pub style tables with up to 20 per table, and in our specific table having 25. The spacing between tables was a joke. Imaging having your back against someone else's back while seated on bar stools to truly illustrate what the experience was like. There were plenty of agitated guests, which transcended to multiple bouts between the hostesses seating guests and the wait staff serving them once seated. In all, the wait staff clearly argued to the hostesses that they were over loaded with guest and demanded no more guest be seated on the "sides". Once the obvious set in, those who were late to arrive and stood in line withe least amount of wait time were offered preferred seating in the center if club with a better wait staff/guest ratio for your two drink minimum.
Once all guest were packed in and the arguments subsided, the show promptly started nearly 1 1/2 hours after the ticketed start time. Again, I must say, the comedians were great. There's no doubt that if this venue were operated by experienced, professional clubs like The Impov, Laugh Factory, this show would've been better. There's no doubt this staff/venue were overwhelmed!
As if the long wait, being packed like sardines, obstructed view of the stage, poor wait service wasn't enough, the entire club was directed into one exit for the purpose of meeting with the talent and the ability to purchase keep sakes from the show. This is all fine on the surface, but the majority of the "side" seating patrons were extremely delayed by our waitresses trying to sort out our final bill. Most of the masses were lined up and on their way while we just sat detained. Horrible!
If you purchase tix to this venue be sure to reserve seats or just arrive late. Either way, avoid the side seating at all costs.

The venue was TERRIBLE. It was jam packed. Stools and tables were not even set up very well to see the stage. The waitress took our credit card even though we were paying cash and then gave our card to someone else and could not locate it till well after show was over.We will not go to The Parlor again. Not comfortable at all. Staff was uptight and it felt as if we were in some kind of institution rarer than a fun place.
