Hadn't even been inside Lincoln Square before tonight. It is a pretty nice place with a lot of entertainment -- even a bowling alley / club on the second floor.
Parlor Live felt a lot like a casino. Goldstar's seats were GA and I recommend getting there an hour early to sit in the front of the far side GA section. The rows are tall tables with seats on both sides, and the seats at the near end of the table are the best.
We didn't eat before we went and we should have. The service was great and waitress very nice, but food just average and on the expensive side.
I liked Greg Proops and he had some funny riffs. I didn't realize there would be two warmup comedians and an MC, but it makes sense. There was a lot of man-humor so it wouldn't be first-date material, I'd say. Going to a comedy show is a little more risky than a play, as you never know what they are going to say!
They have a regular schedule of comedians, and I will definitely go again.
Quotes & Highlights
- "Proops proved himself a keen improviser on Whose Line Is It Anyway? ... but his performance there only hinted at how nimble he is here, guiding seemingly steam-of-consciousness thoughts about current events right into jokes that appear handcrafted and fussed over." --Rolling Stone, in praise of Proops' hit comedy podcast, The Smartest Man in the World
