Dan Hoyle brings his critically-acclaimed hit solo show The Real Americans to the Marsh in Berkeley. After the success of his previous plays Circumnavigator and Tings Dey Happen, Dan Hoyle turned his sights on America. Leaving the liberal bubble of the Bay Area, Hoyle spent 100 days traveling the country in search of a way to bridge the urban/rural political gap. His exploration of the matters that unite and divide the country is funny, poignant and insightful. He's toured the country with it, and it's enjoyed multiple long runs at the Marsh in San Francisco. What a fun evening! Marsh Berkeley has a caberet with cocktails and small plates, tasty deviled eggs to go with... I had the Killer Cocktail, which is as much performance art as tasty beverage-- i vodka (or gin) and pomegranite syrup. and Killer Story was a dime novel Noir rendered Berkeley - stylish, funny, and surprising. Great acting, and interacting. Get there early to get good tables, which allow you to enjoy nibblies and drinks during the show. Absolutely would recommend it for visitors as well as young adults... no profanity, but lots of sly humor. Lots of fun references to The Maltese Falcon.
A Killer Story is recommended for those aged 13 or older.
