To study philosophy or not to study philosophy, that is the question, or one of them, faced by the famed Prince of Denmark as he returns for his senior year of college, circa 1518. In David Davalos' hyper-literate comedy, Hamlet is desperately trying to focus on improving his tennis game while philosophy prof Dr. Faustus and theologist Martin Luther engage in a spirited volley to try to lure him into their schools of thought. Wittenberg, winner of the prestigious Edgerton Foundation New American Plays Award, makes its Bay Area premiere, courtesy of Aurora Theatre Company. Learn More

A very engaging story of a modern family with 2 lesbian women, a son with probably high functioning Asperger's, and a visiting photographer who specializes in taking pictures of nude women and pre-pubescent girls. Needless to say, the Body Awareness week being led by the feminist college professor does not go as planned with the artist's presence on campus and in their home. Excellent acting, clever use of small stage and props, serious modern topics with plenty of comedic moments dealing with intimate and potential relationships and views by ourselves and others of our bodies. Highly recommend it to all!
Body Awareness is being produced as the fully-staged anchor production in The Global Age Project (GAP), an Aurora Theatre Company initiative that encourages playwrights and directors to explore life in the 21st century and beyond. In addition, several new plays dealing with global age concerns will be chosen from an international pool of playwrights and presented in a series of developmental readings during the run of Body Awareness.
