A good somewhat bare bones presentation of the Donizetti opera. The orchestra was adequate, the translation of the original text by Pippin was engaging, and the voices were first rate.
I enjoyed the opera, the singing was excellent and liked very much Mr. Pippen's presentation of the scene settings.

Renowned architect Julia Morgan designed this building in 1908 as the St. John's Presbyterian Church. Working with a budget of two dollars per square foot, Morgan used natural redwood paneling, once affordable and abundant, for the interior and exterior of the building.
