OMG all 6 of us loved it...this fun food tour exceeded all our expectations. Lisa our energetic foodie tour guide fed us interesting facts and delicious food the entire 3 hours. Can't wait to do Lisa's SF food tours!

The Gourmet Ghetto Tour in North Berkeley consists of carefully selected stops where business owners and artisans share their stories about passion and commitment to local, organic food. A local epicurean concierge leads the way on this well-paced stroll filled with intriguing history and interesting commentary regarding the special connections between many of the successful establishments included in the tour.

Tastes may include: house-cured pastrami sandwich on ACME rye with house made celery soda at Saul’s Delicatessen, renowned for redefining Jewish American fare with California sensibility; freshly baked bread at The Cheese Board Collective, an employee-owned Berkeley co-op, the vegetarian Pizza of the Day at the Cheese Board Pizzeria; hot and chilled soups at SOOP — depending on the season — made fresh daily such as Red Thai Lentil, classic Chicken Noodle, Raw Corn and Cashew, and Chicken and Hominy with Lime; and ice cream from LUSH Gelato in deliciously unique flavors such as Straus Yogurt and Orange Zest, Point Reyes Blue Cheese & Cranberries, and McEvoy Ranch Olive Oil.

All stops are subject to change depending upon availability.

Tours run rain or shine.
