The tour area is rich with culinary history. We had the opportunity to meet the proprietors who took the time to interact with our group. Leading a walking tour is an art and Lisa does it with style and knowledge of the scene that is North...continued

OMG all 6 of us loved it...this fun food tour exceeded all our expectations. Lisa our energetic foodie tour guide fed us interesting facts and delicious food the entire 3 hours. Can't wait to do Lisa's SF food tours!

Thursdays: There is free, unlimited street parking in the following areas: North of Eunice on Walnut and Oxford Streets and North of Berryman on Milvia and Bonita Streets. Please read the parking signs carefully as you will be responsible for any tickets. Please note that it is an approximately 10-minute walk to your meetup location at The Cheese Board. Your Epicurean Concierge will be holding an Edible Excursions sign. Call 415-806-5970 or 415-425-3148 if you are running late or have trouble finding the tour.

Saturdays: There is free parking at the JCC parking lot at 1414 Walnut Street. Print out the parking pass and place on your car’s dashboard to avoid parking tickets. Please note that it is an approximately 10 minute walk to your meet-up location at The Cheese Board where you will check in with your Epicurean Concierge 5 minutes prior to the tour start time. Your Epicurean Concierge will be holding an Edible Excursions sign. Anyone who is running late may call 415-806-5970 to find out where to catch up to the tour.

The Gourmet Ghetto Tour in North Berkeley consists of carefully selected stops where business owners and artisans share their stories about passion and commitment to local, organic food. A local epicurean concierge leads the way on this well-paced stroll filled with intriguing history and interesting commentary regarding the special connections between many of the successful establishments included in the tour. 

Tastes may include: house-cured pastrami sandwich on ACME rye with house made celery soda at Saul’s Delicatessen, renowned for redefining Jewish American fare with California sensibility; freshly baked bread at The Cheese Board Collective, an employee-owned Berkeley co-op, the vegetarian Pizza of the Day at the Cheese Board Pizzeria; hot and chilled soups at SOOP — depending on the season — made fresh daily such as Red Thai Lentil, classic Chicken Noodle, Raw Corn and Cashew, and Chicken and Hominy with Lime; and ice cream from LUSH Gelato in deliciously unique flavors such as Straus Yogurt and Orange Zest, Point Reyes Blue Cheese & Cranberries, and McEvoy Ranch Olive Oil.
