Fun evening of improv with some very clever actors who can think fast on their feet to the audience suggestions. I was less enthralled with the second half's kung fu movie. Intermission Chinese zither player was good.Written on Feb 13 2012

This event was very enjoyable. I wished that the improv games (first half of show) went on longer; perhaps less games but with more time spent on developing each game. Second half of show was pretty funny, though the improv actors had some difficulty, at times, at coming up w/dialogue off the cuff. A few awkward moments of empty space. Overall, however, was pretty good and funny.Written on Feb 16 2012

Description
Improvised Theater at AE is a new experiment in scriptless performance by Actors Ensemble of Berkeley, featuring The Streetlight People and The 5 Deadly Improvisers with music by David Norfleet and Joey Hassid. There will be a special zheng performance at intermission, an ancient classical instrument also known as the Chinese zither, performed by Jing-Yi Chung.
Scriptless and fearless, these improvisers will take the stage to create a performance inspired by you, the audience. In the first half, The Streetlight People will enact short scenes and games, and in the second half, the 5 Deadly Improvisers will create a story in the genre of kung-fu - all created on the spot, based on audience suggestions.
The Streetlight People are a Bay Area improvisation troupe, with over two dozen sold out performances to their credit since 2008.
The 5 Deadly Improvisers specialize in telling stories in the kung-fu genre. They won critical recognition after four consecutive wins in 2011 as part of the Bay Area Theater Sports Cave Match performance team.
Jing-Yi Chung began playing the chinese musical instrument, the zheng, also known as the Chinese zither, at the age of 7. Hailing from Taiwan, she has performed and competed at the national level.
