These guys gloriously redefined Mariachi music for me. Their amazing voices and instrumentals were simply beautiful. I would relish the opportunity to see them again.Written on Dec 23 2008

I waited five years for this Mariachi band to return to Zellerbach. It is a perfect Christmas program and think Zellerback should present it annually.Written on Dec 30 2008

If you love Mexican music, you just can't do better than this. This group has incredible voices and instrumentation. Dancers joined the musicians on stage periodically wearing traditional dress from various parts of Mexico, which added visual richness and fun. Zellerbach auditorium was packed and the audience was enthusiastic. The head mariachi joked with the audience and encouraged clapping and singing along at times.Written on Dec 22 2008
The only thing we didn't care for was a portion that was dedicated to a medly of English Christmas carols. It wasn't what we were there for, but I tried to remember that they did it out of graciousness which is very much the warm Mexican spirit. It was only a small part of at the beginning of the second half. Then they were back to the great mariachi canciones I love.

Description
The Grammy Award-winning Mariachi Los Camperos—under the direction of visionary and traditionalist Nati Cano and comprised of the finest musicians from Mexico—takes the stage for Fiesta Navidad, a rousing Christmas celebration for young and old alike. Lively music and colorful costumes combine for a magical experience as the artists celebrate the traditional fiesta of La Posada (the 400-year-old traditional reenactment of Joseph and Mary's pilgrimage to Bethlehem). The afternoon culminates with an audience sing-along of seasonal favorites and carols, including "Feliz Navidad" and "Noche de Paz" ("Silent Night").
