The pianist was quite good, but the orchestra was very spotty. They were very tentative and timid in the quiet parts of the movements, and only seemed confident during the loud parts. They were also out-of-tune. The oboe solo in the 1st piece was flat. And when they wheeled out the piano for the Rachmaninoff, the lead violin struck C so the orchestra could tune to it, but it seemed as though no one did. They continued to have several members who were flat, and while it wasn't a complete cacophony, it was NOT pleasant. I expected much more from Russian musicians performing Russian composers.

The sololists were very good. However, the orchestra was only so so and I was very disappointed with the conductor. I would not go to hear the orchestra or conductor again.

This program as played by the Moscow State Radio Symphony Orchestra and conducted by Robert Cole was "delicious". The young featured artists were off the charts excellent, very inspiring.
