Paul Mooney returns to the Bay Area to close out Black History Month -- and welcome the election year -- with a two-hour stand-up show featuring material from his best-selling book Black Is the New White and debuting new riffs from an upcoming CD to be titled Black Man In the White House. Known for his explosively funny, controversial and politically-charged routines about race and current events, Mooney is considered a living legend in the comedy world, having written for Richard Pryor, Robin Williams, Sandra Bernhard and Whoopi Goldberg, as well as for the television shows Sanford and Son, In Living Color and Chappelle's Show. These sure-to-be classic live shows are being taped for a DVD release.

Very insightful and funny. Paul Mooney uses the racism that is pervasive in society as a backdrop for blunt humor. So, if you can't deal with that reality, it's probably best that you stay away. But I enjoyed his take on current events. Overall, a worthwhile show.

I love Paul Mooney and believe that he is an iconic political comedian who is not afraid to talk about race in a raw, in your face kind of way. However, last night's performance was a complete FAIL!
I could count the funny moments on one hand and the way he was all slouched and bummy was not a good look and just made him, seem lazy and like he didn't really want to be there. Pussy and dick jokes all night got old and he spent the whole set talking about Oprah and other purported "hoes" I am really disappointed in Mooney and hope that he ups his game real soon. All bad Paul, c'mon mayne you are in Oaktown!!

Extremely crass and not funny or hymurous at all. Every other word was a bad word, his jokes were lame and outdated and his delivery was terrible.
