Few people have earned as much comedy cred as Paul Mooney. He first came to prominence as Richard Pryor's go-to writer, co-writing some of Pryor's most legendary albums including Live on the Sunset Strip, and ...Is It Something I Said? Later he would contribute to several TV shows, including Sanford and Son and Good Times, before becoming the head writer on In Living Color. His influence continues through his celebrated work on Chappelle's Show and BET specials. Please see the full event description for upcoming show information. Learn More

Written on Mar 01 2012Very insightful and funny. Paul Mooney uses the racism that is pervasive in society as a backdrop for blunt humor. So, if you can't deal with that reality, it's probably best that you stay away. But I enjoyed his take on current events. Overall, a worthwhile show.
Written on Feb 29 2012I love Paul Mooney and believe that he is an iconic political comedian who is not afraid to talk about race in a raw, in your face kind of way. However, last night's performance was a complete FAIL!
I could count the funny moments on one hand and the way he was all slouched and bummy was not a good look and just made him, seem lazy and like he didn't really want to be there. Pussy and dick jokes all night got old and he spent the whole set talking about Oprah and other purported "hoes" I am really disappointed in Mooney and hope that he ups his game real soon. All bad Paul, c'mon mayne you are in Oaktown!!
Written on Feb 29 2012Extremely crass and not funny or hymurous at all. Every other word was a bad word, his jokes were lame and outdated and his delivery was terrible.
Written on Feb 29 2012Loved the show - Paul Mooney was great!
