Stunning performance by Stefan Jackiw, solo violin for Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto in D major! The Chorus that joined the Orchestra for the premiere of Pletnev's Song Cycle was great. And the Orchestra was wonderful, including their clearly-planned two encores - they really showed off their versatility with pieces from America's 20th century for those encores. And the acoustics in Zellerbach Hall are excellent, better than Davies. I'd go again!Written on Feb 22 2010
