Working with choreographer Mark Morris was once described as "about as much fun as you can have legally and in public" -- and that sense of almost dangerous delight spreads from the stage to the audience during every performance of his world-famous company. Now the Mark Morris Dance Group returns to their West Coat "home-away-from home" -- Cal Performances' Zellerbach Hall -- for two programs filled with Morris' latest repertory gems, plus a reprise of the hit of the 2013 Ojai North Festival (his acclaimed take on The Rite of Spring entitled Spring, Spring, Spring). Inspired by quirky Scottish folk songs, Modernist Americana and Romantic chamber music, these pieces showcase Morris' eclectic musical tastes as much as his dynamic (and world-famed) choreography.
