Members Who Went Said:We really enjoyed this. The play itself is uneven, a bit messy in some places, at other times a bit too pat. (The playwright also fudges a few of his facts about early Christian manuscripts, which annoyed me briefly, but I guess it doesn't really matter for the purposes of the story.) But the themes are rich and complex and the characters and their relationships are intriguing and very human. The acting is really terrific. I was caught up in the story from beginning to end.
Anonymous Member It was one of the best plays I have seen in many years. It was emotionally moving, funny and thought provoking.
Anonymous Member I was totally and pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this play at the Aurora. The intimacy of the theater's stage and distance to the audience made every gesture and eye movement meaningful. |
