Inspired by Euripides' classic anti-war tragedy, Ellen McLaughlin's The Trojan Women vividly recounts the final moments of Trojan civilization in the aftermath of the city's sacking by the invading Greeks. Queen Hecuba, the slave-concubine Andromache and the mythic Helen, meet in the ruins and together find victory in the female spirit amid the horrors visited upon them by both gods and men.
