Pianist-composer Eddie Palmieri is known as the "Sun" of Latin music and this fiery talent shows no signs of setting. Born in Spanish Harlem, Palmieri first performed at Carnegie Hall at age 11 and formed his first band at age 14. For the next half century, Palmieri came to dominate the Latin and salsa genres, collecting nine Grammy Awards and releasing more than 40 albums. Today, on the heels of being named a 2013 NEA Jazz Master, Palmieri continues to tour the country.
