Members Who Went Said:Lots of fun and memories from long ago. Also some relevance to today, though not as much as the reviews indicated.
Su What if there were no hypothetical questions? OMG. See this play. First, the premise is great. Second, from the moment the actors appeared on stage until they took their final bows (three times, the audience was clapping so long), they were completely believable and totally in character. The dialogue was brilliant, timely—funny how we face some of the same situations now that we did in the 1970's—and the pacing was terrific. I would gladly see this play two or three more times.
Anonymous Member You owe it to yourself to see this fabulous play— you won't regret it. It is highly relevant to a certain other highly impeachable President I won't name. As a psychoanalyst, I found it to be psychologically plausible and astute. |

More Details About This Event: Nixon's Nixon
By Russell Lees Directed by Jerry Whiddon He's back - and he's funny! It's August 7, 1974. Secluded in the Lincoln Sitting Room of the White House on the eve of his resignation, President Richard Nixon and his Secretary of State, Henry Kissinger, come to terms with the consequences of their actions as they act out comic and provocative conversations with various world leaders. First produced by Round House in 1999, Nixon's Nixon was a huge hit, with rave reviews, sold-out performances, and multiple Helen Hayes Award nominations. Edward Gero (as Nixon) and Conrad Feininger (as Kissinger) reprise their roles for this new production. Producing Artistic Director Emeritus Jerry Whiddon directs a playful satire that's just perfect for this election year.
