This event is a "concert" and I was expecting the play. When you have costumes and staging it is a whole presentation. In concert form the singing is all there is and if anyone isn't perfect the whole event suffers. The woman who narrated the show had a voice that hurt my ears at times. The show was only one hour long. They started the show 20-25 minutes late with no explanation. Not my favorite experience.

Where to begin? Unorganized check-in, no one to guide Will-Call ticket holders to proper lines & no visable signage to know otherwise, show started almost 1/2 hour late, seats were unbelievably crowded (I am just 5'6" & unable to sit with my knees in front of me), and God-Awful production! We expected a more professional, full-on production. What we got was a half-baked, amateur one, with NO set design, no costumes, lackluster & sloppy delivery except by the 2 leads & one of the 'brothers', uneven & garbled sound delivery so we were unable to understand alot of the lyrics, and a cute children's chorus that couldn't sing & looked mostly bored.
We wanted to leave after a few minutes but were pinned in by the crowded seats & rows & didn't want to be rude to others, so we hoped for an intermission (there wasn't one) then suffered through the entire production. Thankfully it was only about 75 minutes.
The only saving grace is that our ticket money went to a good, charitable cause - to support arts education in our schools. Too bad we couldn't donate the $10 for parking too.

IF you have kids, you/they might enjoy this, since the children's chorus is on the stage the entire time & actively participate in several #s. Otherwise, send a check to support the charity & stay home.

The event was enjoyable, but not quite what we were expecting. There was plenty of singing and a bit of dancing, but no actual acting....the children's choir was adorable and clearly they invested a lot of effort into making the performance go smoothly. Andrew Lloyd Weber & Tim Rice were in fine form with the soundtrack, as always!
The theater was beautiful AND outside food and drink were allowed.
