The 11th annual Once Upon a Canyon Night series continues with a staged reading of Robert Harling's bittersweet Southern comedy Steel Magnolias, starring Academy Award nominee Tess Harper. Based on the playwright's upbringing in Louisiana and filled with humor and heartbreak, the play tells the story of six women of different backgrounds, ages and beliefs who regularly gather at Truvy's beauty salon to share gossip, memories, joy and ultimately support one another when tragedy strikes unexpectedly.
