The 11th annual Once Upon a Canyon Night series continues with a staged reading of Robert Harling's bittersweet Southern comedy Steel Magnolias, starring Academy Award nominee Tess Harper. Based on the playwright's upbringing in Louisiana and filled with humor and heartbreak, the play tells the story of six women of different backgrounds, ages and beliefs who regularly gather at Truvy's beauty salon to share gossip, memories, joy and ultimately support one another when tragedy strikes unexpectedly. Sponsored by TreePeople and Actors Conservatory Theatre and held in a beautiful outdoor forest setting, you never know which celebrities you'll see at these events, which regularly attract the on-stage participation of many Hollywood actors. Bring a picnic to enjoy on the picturesque grounds before and during the show.

wonderful intimate amphitheatre set in a wooded glen at the Tree People center. Good reading and actors; a few blips but covered beautifully.
