Since Macy Gray's 1999 smash single "I Try" made her a worldwide phenomenon, the raspy-voiced singer has continued to prove herself a singular artist with the ability to surprise and delight. Her album-length love letter to Stevie Wonder, Talking Book, offered radical revisions of some of the funk-master's greatest tracks, with hits like "You Are the Sunshine of My Life" and "Superstition" filtered through Gray's unusual arrangements and growly-yet-somehow-sexy vocals. Never content to rest on her laurels, the ever-inventive Gray has a new album coming out this fall, The Way, that reflects her evolution as a woman, mother and artist. Chances are, she'll drop a track or two from it at this show, mixing new creations with her incredible back catalog of global hits. Learn More

Enjoyed the show. My mistake was getting general admission seats. It is a small venue, however there is a column running from floor to ceiling which can partially block one's view. My recommendation would be to purchase a ticket that guarantees a seat, although you could still be behind the column. Sophie put on a good show. She has an excellent voice and showed her versatility. Definitely worth the price of admission.

And then came Sophie.
A raw and gritty performance that has no rival.
It was as if she was in our living room, singing just to us.
But more accurately,
we were in HER living room and she was in her element.
No shoes. Wild hair.
