A modern dance company that's been performing -- and blowing minds -- since 1971, Pilobolus proves that the human body is the most eloquent and magical of all mediums. The company's famed for its innovative contortions, requiring incredible strength, agility and flexibility, and they've been featured everywhere from Oprah and 60 Minutes to Late Night with Conan O'Brien and Sesame Street, not to mention performing to acclaim on the 2007 Academy Awards broadcast. Having collaborated with some of the best and brightest minds in entertainment -- including Maurice Sendak (Where the Wild Things Are), Grammy-winning band OK Go and Pulitzer Prize winner Art Spiegelman (Maus) -- Pilobolus continues to redefine the world's understanding of dance through constant transformation and evolution, continually adding to their repertory of more than 100 works. What a fantastic cultural experience! The rear orchestra seats in the Shubert gave us a clear view of the stage; the space is intimate enough that it seemed you would have a good view from any location. The description of the event was true to its word- it was truly a feast of colors, a mix of indigenous, spanish-influenced and even caribbean-influenced dances of Mexico. I only wish it was longer, but I suppose they keep you wanting more for the next tour. Best buy on Goldstar to date! Highly recommend it!
