Description
upon the wind your music floats
with guest artists Elizabeth Keusch, soprano & Nicholas Tolle, cimbalom
Join us as we explore the Austro-Hungarian tradition through the eyes of the extraordinary Hungarian composer György Kurtág, looking from Bartók – his “mother tongue” – to Schubert and Schumann. His vivid, expressionistic style condenses infinite complexities into fragile, fleeting miniatures that conjure whirlwinds of emotion.

Der Hirt auf dem Felsen for soprano, clarinet & piano, Op. 129, D. 965
Béla Bartók

György Kurtág
Scenes from a Novel for soprano, violin, double bass & cimbalom, Op. 19
György Ligeti
Six Bagatelles for wind quintet
Robert Schumann
Piano Quartet in E-flat Major, Op. 47
