Hear music so defiant, jubilant and provocative that it could only be birthed by revolution as the New England Conservatory Philharmonia plays Shostakovich, Prokofiev, Beethoven, Wolff: Every Revolution Should Have Music This Good. Beethoven's Egmont celebrates the 16th-century Dutch nobleman who heroically opposed the despotic Duke of Alba, while Shostakovich's 1957 Symphony No. 11, subtitled The Year 1905, is a post-Stalinist look back at the Russian Revolution. Returning to Boston Symphony Hall for the first time since 2010, the polished NEC ensemble -- under the baton of world-renowned conductor Hugh Wolff -- also welcomes back award-winning alum Xiang Yu to perform Prokofiev's Violin Concerto No. 1. It was a lovely show this time around. It's my third time attending the spring show (I've been to the holiday edition twice) however, I just thought the volume of artists could probably have been a smidge larger. I believe there was less than 100 artists, but many of them had similar or like minded art/wares that they were showing, so there wasn't a huge amount of diversity I'd say

Perhaps it was my own ignorance, but I was expecting a traditional craft fair. This was a high end artisan fair. The products were lovely. I saw lots of pieces that I loved, if only I could afford them. It wasn't my "scene". I wouldn't go again
