The band might be named "Eddie from Ohio" but acts like the Grateful Dead, Bare Naked Ladies and Peter, Paul & Mary have influenced this group far more than the Buckeye State (indeed, all four members are from Virginia). Too energetic to be pegged "folk," not angry enough to be "alternative," the music of EFO is in a category all its own, where polished four-part harmonies and lyrically-driven original music reign supreme. Not just unique, their sound is also deeply appealing, attracting thousands of fans and selling more than 150,000 albums, all without the help of a major music label. Now EFO, six-time winner of the "Best Contemporary Folk Group" award by the Washington Area Music Association (i.e. Wammie Awards), comes to Boston to play the Wilbur Theatre.
