Palestinian-Israeli Identity Explored in Semi-Autobiographical One-Man Show
The son of a Palestinian Muslim father and Jewish Israeli mother, writer-director Ibrahim Miari explores the complexities and contradictions of Palestinian-Israeli identity in In Between
. A semi-autobiographical one-man show, In Between
begins during an interrogation by Israeli airport security, when Miari's character recalls his childhood in Acco, memories of his Jewish and Palestinian grandmothers, and war. Questions surrounding his identity become even further complicated by his imminent marriage to a Jewish-American woman. A discussion with the artist will follow the performance.
