Kings of Salsa comes to the Cutler Majestic Theatre at Emerson College. Choreographed by Roclan González Chávez, a rising star in Havana's dance scene, Kings of Salsa features some of Cuba's best young dancers chosen from the top dance companies, backed by the nine-piece Cuba Ashire band. These exciting young performers heat up the stage with energetic modern interpretations of rumba, mambo and other classic Cuban dances combined with new dance styles from the street salsa and hip hop scenes. Kings of Salsa pays tribute to traditional Cuban forms of dance while putting a contemporary modern twist on the forms to show off the style and attitude of young Cuba today.
