This hit live musical by ABBA's Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus -- recently made into a top-grossing movie starring Meryl Streep -- tells the story of a mother, a daughter, three possible dads, and an unforgettable trip down the aisle. Bride-to-be Sophie wants nothing more than to have her father at her wedding. But there's a problem: She has no idea which of mom Donna's three former boyfriends might be the guy. So, Sophie invites them all to the festivities, surprising her fiercely independent mom and Donna's two best gal pals. The show's tale of enduring love and friendship features the fabulous hit songs "Dancing Queen," "S.O.S.," "The Winner Takes It All," "Take a Chance on Me" and the title tune. This North American tour comes as the production celebrates its 10th year on Broadway.

I was very disappointed by Mamma Mia. It was too light on plot- just an excuse to string together a series of Abba songs. The sexual jokes were crude, the dancing so-so. It was also too long: close to 3 hours (including intermission and two post-curtain numbers.) I will think twice before seeing a "musical" like this again.
