Set on the eve of the Spanish-American War, this new play tells the story of Adela who finds rebellion on her doorsteps whether she wants to or not. Although the widowed pharmacist tries to carry on with her life despite the growing conflict around her, she has no choice but to get involved and must choose between her country and her family. An engaging performance with toe-tapping Appalachian music, creative props (a wooden palette becomes a boat, a piece of brown cloth, a mountain) and an engaging original tall tale. The young performers are exuberant and very talented.
