Arthur Miller's iconic drama, which won both the 1949 Pulitzer Prize and the Tony Award for Best Play that year, packs a timeless emotional impact with its unflinching examination of the American dream. After a lifetime as an unfulfilled traveling salesman, the aging Willy Loman finds himself at the end of his career and the end of his rope. As dreams of the past collide with visions of what might have been, Willy's wife and sons wage a desperate struggle to engage him in the present. The New York Times called Death of a Salesman "one of the finest dramas in the whole range of the American theater." Witness the epic extremes of humor and anguish, promise and loss contained within the four walls of an American living room. Learn More

This play takes on the difficult job of recounting history as drama, and does well with it. Harry and Rudi both come across as very real people, strengths and weaknesses and conflicting desires, which feed into their personal and political choices.

This hit off-Broadway play tells the story of two men - the communist Harry Hay and the Viennese refugee and fashion designer Rudi Gernreich - as they fall in love while forming the first gay-rights organization in the pre-Stonewall United States. "Temperamental" was a necessary code word in the early 1950s - danger was always an underlying presence but with it, a heady, intoxicating secrecy also hung in the air.
Will McGarrahan (as Harry Hay)
Nael Nacer (as Rudi Gernreich)
