Small, intimate theatre. Any seat in house was good, however, chairs were rather uncomfortable.

Infinitesimal Kushner: Important philosophical, social, moral, political questions trivialized to obscenity. Pun intended.
Director's choice incomprehensible to me.
Houk was pretty good though, trying to get 3D out of his cartoonish characters

All 4 actors were very good & the plays were very well written; because they were quite intense I think 5 was one too many.

I applaud Plaza Black Box Theater for its commitment to providing live theater, usually daring, and often quite exciting. I certainly admire other works by Kushner, but... continued

Terminating or Sonnet LXXV or “Lass Meine Schmerzen Nicht Verloren Sein” or Ambivalence — Using Shakespeare’s 75th sonnet as a inspiration, the play explores a therapist and her patient who find it hard to quit each other.                __

East Coast Ode to Howard Jarvis: a little teleplay in tiny monologues__ -  Inspired by actual events from 1996, the play explores how New York City municipal employees - inspired by mid-western militia groups — attempted to evade paying federal and state taxes by claiming 98 exemptions.  

Dr. Arnold A. Hutschnecker in Paradise — The highest of the Jewish angels, Metatron, has Dr. Arnold Hutschnecker –  best known as Richard Nixon’s therapist – on the therapy couch in the afterlife.  

Only We Who Guard the Mystery Shall Be Unhappy — Laura Bush reads Dostoevsky’s The Brothers Karamazov to the ghosts of dead Iraqi schoolchildren.  

Kushner is the recipient of a Pulitzer Prize for Drama, an Emmy Award, two Tony Awards, three Obie Awards, an Oscar nomination, an Arts Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the PEN/Laura Pels Award for a Mid-Career Playwright, a Spirit of Justice Award from the Gay and Lesbian Advocates and Defenders, and a Cultural Achievement Award from The National Foundation for Jewish Culture, among many others. Kushner latest full length play, The Intelligent Homosexual’s Guide to Capitalism & Socialism with a Key to the Scriptures opened in New York at the Public Theatre in May 2011.
