The little upstate New York college town where Mark and Bret live used to be a great place, but things have gotten strange. Women have been attacked in the area, and Bret is terrified that her missing best friends could be the latest victims. Mark is more concerned about winning Bret back, and worried that she's cheating on him. Bret's reclusive landlord is watching their relationship implode via a strategically placed mirror in her apartment, unbeknownst to them both. When a detective with a colorful past arrives to investigate the disappearances, this little two-act whodunit thriller twists and turns its way to a frightening conclusion. New England Entertainment Digest called it a "terrific new murder mystery thriller ... a shattering web of suspicions and deceit." Learn More

"Midsummer Night's Dream" is a somewhat difficult play, with its plot that makes no sense and a play within the play that makes even less sense. The Annapolis Shakespeare Players chose to overcome these weaknesses by emphasizing character rather than story. Thus, actor after actor gave the broadest interpretation of his/her character, even to the point of being campy. The decision to do that made the performance a success. My friend and I were thoroughly entertained by the sometimes athletically inspired cast. I still haven't figured out the employment of many umbrellas, not only in some of the action but in the set. But who cares? It was lots of fun anyway.
Theatrical haze is used in this production.
The opening night reception begins at 7:00pm and will include a generous assortment of hot and cold savory hors d’oeuvres and decadent desserts served buffet style, paired with wine and sparkling punch.
