John DiResta is the real deal. He is a true comedic mixed martial artist of the highest order. John started is comedy career as a New York City transit cop, where he did seven years in the Homeless Outreach Unit. John patrolled the 300 miles of subway tunnels under New York looking for down and out ‘clients’ he could take to the shelter. Once the clients were on the bus John would entertain them all on the way to the shelter. Making numerous homeless clients laugh hysterically on the Outreach bus is one John’s fondest memories of his days as a New York City cop.
John turned his life story into the very successful one man show BEAT: A Subway Cop’s Comedy, which ran for eight months on 42nd Street in NYC. Two days after it closed, the project sold to ABC. John then resigned from the NYPD and moved to Hollywood. John’s self titled sitcom, DiResta, ran for 17 episodes on the UPN.
John then went on to star in over a dozen feature films. He can be seen in both Miss Congeniality One and Two, and also in How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days and the suspense thriller 15 Minutes along with Robert De Niro. In addition to his sitcom John has had three additional TV shows on the air. He can currently be seen as the host of Hammered, the hysterical building show that runs on the DIY Network three times a week. John also played Brooklyn Johnny on Comedy Central’s American Body Shop. He was also the creator and host of Trash To Cash with John DiResta. Trash To Cash was a cult hit on FX. The show touched its viewers in a very unique way due to the comedy being real, fresh and whipped up on the spot.
John continues to hone his funny muscle on a daily basis. He headlines all over the world doing big live stand up events from Montauk Point to Hong Kong and lots of points in between.
