Description

Steve Flye was born in Houston, TX, May 31, 1972 and to this day is the only child of Dora & Steve, as far as he knows. Being on stage always came easy for this 10-year comedy vet as a result of his childhood. Steve was selected at the age of 5, to star in one of the local CBS affiliate’s 60-sec commecials for Black History month. After successfully auditioning for The Singing Boys of Houston (a professional choir), Steve toured with that group four years and became accustomed to “life on the road.” A former college scholarship althlete and graduate, Flye as most call him, began working @ Houston’s Laff Stop in 1997. Within that same year he found himself advancing all the way to the Final Four in Houston’s Funniest person contest. He focuses his comedy on molding the realities of life into a surprisingly clever mix of bluntness & laughter. Moving to Los Angeles, Ca in 1998, “life on the road” soon turned into simply LIFE for Mr. Flye. Touring with some of comedy’s biggest names he quickly showed his worth the way he handles an audience as a host with original, clever, & thoughtful material. He currently appears at all the top comedy clubs in Los Angeles such as the Improv, The Laugh Factory & The Ice House. The ease with which he commands the stage places audiences in a laughter-induced trance and has made him one of the nation’s most sought after talents. He has been seen on numerous TV shows such as BET’s Comic View, The Loco Comedy Jam, & CSI: Las Vegas, as the crime scene. Traveling the globe, in connection with the USO, he has thrilled thousands of U.S. troops and servicemen by bringing what’s really going on at home to them overseas. “Performing for the troops is great! There’s no more deserving or appreciative audience than the heroic men and women fighting for our freedom.” A single father of boys, Flye explains how child support has been a major influence throughout his life. “I want to pay it, but I owe child support and my daddy still owes me!” It’s easy to see how this Texas native provides laughs that cross racial, ethnic, and international borders. Okinawa, Japan or Pico Riviera, Ca, Flye leaves every audience with laughter that’s real & are assured to feel forever. He is working on a sketch comedy venture in connection with DefJam South as well as his second comedy CD, “Flye Definition.” His first CD, “Serious Bid’ness Ma’an” is currently available on various websites including FlyeByNite.com. He currently hosts a show at one of comedy’s hottest venues, the Brea Improv, appropriately titled “Flye Comedy.” He packs his shows on the promise of one ingredient, FUNNY! Corey Holcomb, Rudy Moreno & Edwin San Juan illustrate the level of funny that Flye enjoys bringing to his audiences. Flye’s razor-sharp wit, impeccable timing & God-given talent are set to make him one of comedy’s hottest new faces in 2007!
