Like most great ideas in Jewish history, Ha Ha Hanukkah was conceived over Chinese food.
Between steaming plates of egg rolls and chow mein, two friends wondered: With all the Jewish comics in Southern California, why was there was no Hanukkah comedy show? After all, with such a rich history of Jewish humor and smart comedy, it seemed meshugga not to put on a showcase around the holidays that featured the smartest and funniest comedians Hollywood had to offer. So that’s just what they did.
_ Ha Ha Hanukkah_ is not just a comedy show, but also a celebration of community and a destination party for the holidays. This year the show includes the nationally touring Hebrew School Dropouts including Comedy Central’s Dana Eagle, Eric Schwartz from the WB and XM Radio, and Lee Levine from the nationally syndicated “Bob and Tom Show.”
So come nosh, laugh, kibbitz and schmooze, and make Ha Ha Hanukkah part of your Hanukkah tradition.
