Northeastern University hosts the 33rd Annual John Coltrane Memorial Concert. The world's oldest annual performance tribute to the jazz legend features Bay Area jazz stalwarts Anthony Brown's Asian American Orchestra. Their 1999 recording of Duke Ellington's Far East Suite earned them a Grammy nomination, and Downbeat called Monk's Moods one of the four best jazz albums of 2003.
