It was so much fun watching the show through the eyes of our 4 year old! He was boo-ing and cheering with the crowd! My husband and I have not been to this venue in ages and thought that this would be a fun outing for the kids ages 11, 9 and 4. They thought that it was so cool to eat with your hands, the dancing horses and of course the sword and jousting fights. Our 4 year old had to meet the Black & White Knight at the end. The kids each purchased a souvenier to take home. We got some cute pics of the kids and the knights!

This is a GREAT event at the Goldstar price! We had a party of 7, ranging in age from 2-1/2 to 68. Everyone loved the show! There's a variety of 'fight' and competition scenes in the show, as well as demonstrations which showcased the skills and beauty of the stallions themselves.
You are served a LOT of food... half a chicken, plus 2 small ribs, soup, garlic bread, half a potato, soda, pastry, and coffee. You do eat with your hands but the chicken is so tender it falls right off the bone. They do not offer juice or milk for the kids with the show, so if you need that, I'd suggest bringing your own. As a side note, kids under 3 are free if sitting on an adult lap. We chose that option with our 2-1/2 year old guest, and it worked out great because there was plenty of food to go around and he wouldn't have been able to see well if he sat in his own seat anyway. ***THEY WILL GIVE YOU DOGGIE BAGS IF YOU ASK!*** We took home a lot of chicken! It was juicy and very tasty. Even my 8 and 6 year old kids thought the food was great.
I would have thought the show is overpriced if I'd paid full price ($56+ for adults) but at the Goldstar price it is well worth it. My mother even loved it, and said that it's something we should do once in a while for a change of pace and something fun!

It was a great time, we enjoyed everything from the jousting to the feast of chicken and ribs, when you walk in you meet the king and have a picture taken with either the princess or king then If you arrive early you will also get a chance to meet or should I say see the horses and then the torture chambers! For a small fee they will let someone in your party be acknowledged during the show for most any occassion, Its fun for all ages and we will be back again and probably after that, again! Thanks for the great deal on tickets goldstar!

We got tickets for the 5 pm show and showed up around 3:45 pm. My brother-in-law who got his ticket separate from us,(also from Goldstar) was able to get an assigned seating with us. You could request this if you all come together at the same time. The more than an hour wait didn't bore us at all. Also I think the earlier you arrive the closer your seating would be to the arena. Ours was just perfect. You could actually take advantage of the time by having pictures taken around the waiting area. There is a also a bar and restaurant where you could get drinks while waiting for the show to start. Once seated inside, the servers asks for your menu and drink preference and their service was very good. Our "wench" was very accomodating and really nice. At the end of the show, your server comes back to thank you and leaves a little tray with his/her name on it. FYI, since the ticket didn't include a service charge, it is up to you to give a tip to your server. since we were very happy with ours, we did leave her a little something. Over all the food was good (the chicken and ribs were very moist and tender), the show was fun to watch (especially the horses! they were just amazing). I highly recommend this show to everybody and with Goldstar price, you could never be wrong.

I came to Medieval Times with a group of 6 friends all in their late twenties. None of us had ever been so this was a new experience for all of us. We bought tixs for the last show on Saturday night. We arrived 30min before the show and the parking lot was so full we had to park across the street at Starbucks, which turned out ok because we were able to get out of the parking lot really fast. With our Goldstar confirmation in hand we were directed to line up at a ticket window which took about 15min. Then after picking up actual tickets we were directed to line up again to enter the Castle. Once inside you are assigned a Knight and color. This is who you will be cheering for during your meal and entertainment. You are then directed to line up with your group for a picture with the Princess or King and finally allowed to enter the waiting area. The waiting room has 2 fully stocked bars, and every drink includes a souvenir glass so they charge you a grip of money for a drink. Since we got there kinda late all we did was grab some beers and head into the auditorium to find our seats in the Yellow Knight section. Again, since we were late we were sat at the very top row of our section which sucked because all of our drinks and meals were served over our shoulders which resulted in lots of spills on our sweaters and pants. Our waiter was also very rude, barking orders to pass our glass for drinks "NOW", and plates over your shoulder for food "NOW". But besides the waiter yelling into my ear drum the food was OK. Roasted chicken, a small spare rib & potato. Whatever!!! But the entertainment was lots of fun. Cheering for you Knight, yelling at the other Knights, pounding on your table, Fun Fun Fun!! At the end of show the stupid waiter hands you a little plate with a gratuity note. I am normally a good tipper but seeing how he spilled hot Tomato bisque soup on my shoulder and pants and didn’t apologize after I mentioned it, I only tip him a Buck! And I thought about taking that back. As you exit the auditorium you are directed to a dance lounge where they have club music playing and a stocked bar if you want to stick around and spend more money on expensive drinks. All in all it was a fun night. Here are my recomendations: get there early so you don’t have to struggle with bad service and also they try to sell you a ton of souvenirs so be ready.

My husband, daughter (23) and son (16) and I went, for a little family outing, and we all had a really great time! The "knights" and "wenches" who waited on us were all friendly and fun, the food and drinks were great, and the show was good. We all definitely enjoyed ourselves and look forward to going back - especially at the Goldstar price! WE LOVE GOLDSTAR! We enjoy a lot more stuff (like this show) together as a family because your prices make it possible for us to go often!

After turning in your tickets, you receive your color-coded seat assignments and have crowns bestowed upon you by the noble people of the castle.
While being served by wenches 2 drinks of either Pepsi or Beer, soup, toast, chicken, rib, potato, coffee and an apple pastry you enjoy horse tricks, jousting and knights, color-coded to the different table assignments, competing against the backdrop of the princess awaiting the prince to return and an evil knight that wants to take on all the knights.
Vegetarian meals are offered and the show is long enough that you feel like you got more than you paid for.

I have heard of Medieval Times for so many years and have always been curious. It always seemed pricey so I jumped at the chance at getting a half-price ticket. It is a fun excursion if you happy to be looking for that sort of thing. I went alone and it is definitely more of a group event. People had a few beers and got rowdy cheering for their "team." No a place for a peaceful evening but great if that is what your in the mood for. The costumes and colors were fantastic. I liked seeing the horses and being taken back in time. The falcon show was incredible as the falcon flew overhead. I might have rated it higher had it not been that I was so uncomfortable in the seating. Old stadium type seats lined up behind long rows of tables. It was hard to eat and try to watch the show. Food service is slow and it is a set meal. I did ask for a vegetarian meal. It took a while but it was worth the wait...one of the best vegetarian meals I ever had. All in all, it is something different and probably more for tourists. Certainly Disneyland or Knotts Berry Farm would be a better value at not much more than the Medieval Times full price

As you enter, if you do not plan to spend $20 on another disney style picture, do not have it taken when you come into castle. It will be hard to refuse later and you will have plenty of opportunity to pose with your friends against castle walls and next to knights of armour. If eating half a roasted chicken with a half potato and two bottles of beer does not sound healthy, order a vegetarian meal: it comes with knife, fork, a grilled portabello mushroom toppped with rice pilaf, chips, hummus and a veggie kabob of pepper, onion and potatoes, you get your beer too.
We ordered one veggie and one chicken and shared a great meal for two. The real show started when the feast was over and it was mighty spectacular. Overall a great night out, Thanks Goldstar!

I was very please with the dinner and the show, My kids really enjoyed it, I was a little supprised about the grauity card being placed at the end of the nite, but thats just a kind way to show the server you appriciate them..and I certainly did, we had a group of 4 adults and 4 kids and we all get seated together. It was defenitly worth our $$$ , IM soooo glad that we were able to get the tickets from goldstar. we saved over 100$

I took my family to this and it was AWESOME! We had no idea of what to expect. Yes, some people might think its cheesy or disappointing that its staged...but what do you expect?!
Even though it takes a little while to get into the actual seating area...they do things to keep you excited and ready for the event. Everyone gets different colored paper crowns to wear. the color you get is the color of the place you will sit and the person you will be rooting for.
The kids were going WILD! They loved it! The food was actually really good and there was a lot of it. When they put the chicken on my sons plate they said it was a baby dragon. I don't know if they always say it...but he though that was cool!
If you have a special message for anyone in your party you can pay to have them "knighted" by the king... and they also announce them during the event. You get a photo and a scroll honoring the event. We did this for my husband when he graduated MP school and they announced an extra thanks to him for serving our country. That was very cool.
The do take a photo of your group when you enter and they will try to sell it to you. The people are nice and you don't have to buy it. We did and the quality of the photos are surprisingly good.
This was an event that our family won't soon forget.

Our seats were so close that the knight was able to toss me a flower! We will definitely be going back.... Thank you gold star!!!!

I attended the Sunday afternoon show and would recommend this time to anyone. Arrived 1 hour before show time which gave time to walk around, have a drink, and enjoy the surroundings. I read a review about having beer as a beverage choice, this is no longer the case only soda, tea, and water. The photo that they take when you first arrive will cost you $20 if you decide to buy it at the end.
Thanks to Goldstar for the discounted tickets!

It started out a little cheesy but by the end I was cheering like a crazed fan! The alcohol was a little expensive but it was worth it for the medieval goblet. My boyfriend shattered his giant souvenir glass while toasting my brother for his birthday and the bartender replaced it without any hesitation.

I endedup going in a party of 9 (adults!) and we had a blast!! Only 3 people out of my party have actually been here before, so we kind of knew what to expect. The seating was great! It was arena style, so everyseat looked to be pretty good. The service was very nice and we had a friendly waitress. The show itself was sort of cheesy, but I think that adds to the fun. The performers are good at getting the audience involved and cheering. Definitely a great event to bring kids to. The food was surprisingly better than I expected. They give you a lot of food, so arrive hungry!

I took my husband for his birthday. He was a bit indiferent about the idea but his attitude changed very quickly. We had a great time from the get go. Their Drinks were a abit expensive for my taste but I tried not to pay much attention, after all we were celebrating. The giftshop had lots of interesting items, though once againg most of it was a bit more than I'd like to pay.
The show was alot of fun to watch and the food was good and plenty. Hadn't eaten with my hands in a long time, it was a bit liberating. The riders were talented but not as much as the horses. Everyone got into the competition and cheered lowdly for their Knight. At the end of the show everyone (I mean everyone) headed to the bathrooms (after sitting for 2 hours) and the lines were quite long. So if you have to go try to do it before the show and take it easy on the drinks during.

We had a great evening at Medieval Times. The show was well performed and the food was quite tasty.
We arrived about an hour before the show, since the instructions indicated that seats would be assigned as first come, first served. We did get pretty good seats, but we were bored waiting for the doors to open. I don't think there are really any bad seats in the arena, so waiting to arrive until a half hour before the show would seem adequate to me.
The museum of torture would have been interesting to see, but they charged another $2 per person for admission. I would have thought it would be included in the price of the dinner and tournament.
Overall, we had a wonderful time and would highly recommend going to this show.

As a group of 20-30 year olds, we had as much fun as could be expected. The show is probably wonderful for families with very small children. Other than that, the food was excellent, the drinks were tasty and reasonably priced for a souvenir bar, but the meal did not include alcoholic beverages ("Pirates Dinner Theatre" does. And their show/overall experience is WAY BETTER.) All of the lines were moving so slow that each time a transation completed and it moved forward everyone would CLAP and CHEER. I was in line for probably an hour, which made us enter the castle too close to showtime to enjoy any pre-shows or the appetizers/bar.
NOTE: Just because you BUY the tickets on goldstar.com to a Medieval Times show DOES NOT MEAN you have seats! I almost got caught making this mistake and it would have ruined a birthday party! Thank goodness the box office manager was nice enough to find us 6 seats (even though the show was sold out that night!)

Well...I was really hoping for something amusing for us adults -- BUT it was really just not meant for us. AND, the sound system sucked. Only understood every other word. The appleturnover dessert scalded everyone's tongues. The chicken and spare rib were hardly edible. But on the upside you could drink giant goblets of beer. haha.

Loved it!
My friend (40-something) and her family (12-70-something) invited me to go with them. As I had never been to this pricey spot, I offered to go GoldStar for the fam, and I'm glad we did. It was worth the GoldStar price--and probably even the regular price. But for a group of 4, this made the evening more enjoyable instead of expectant.
My friend is "?", so she got there when the doors opened for the 6:30 show. I rolled in about an hour before, just so they wouldn't be waiting. I think my timing was more on point. While they have pricey picture-taking ($20 framed), bars with drinks in souvenir cups (pricey also), a knighting ceremony ($20 a pop), a medieval torture chamber musuem ($2/person), a character dress-up picture-taking deal ($20 a pop), the horse ?museum?, the gift shop, and plenty of scenery to take non-MT pics and tables to chill at--whew!, you can still do it all in an hour and have time to stand in line in the ladies restroom (yes, you wanna do this BEFORE the show starts) within an hour.
I advise you to bring your own camera. Take pictures with the peasants as you enter. Take pictures with the knight statues as you enter. Take pictures with the knights walking around telling you about the event. Take pictures in the ambiance. Take pictures OF the picture they want you to buy. ; ) Save your $20 for the "wench" or "pauper" tip.
The advantage to going early is seating, besides more enjoyment of the aforementioned. We were first row, right there with the knights and horses, and able to use regular zoom on the camera for action shots.
Everyone's already told you about the food (3 drink choices w/ two cups each included: Pepsi, water, or Sprite, 1/2 of the most succulent roasted chicken, 2 tender pork ribs, 1 slice of garlic bread, 1/2 baked potato, and the "pastry of the castle" (ours was an apple danish). Tip the servers! They're working hard to bring you wet naps, dry napkins, extras on request, and a bit of medieval charm.

This show was wonderful! My family and I got great seats for the event and cheered on the Yellow Knight. I noticed the plot and story line was different from when I went a couple years ago, so it is nice to see they change things up a bit. The food was good, and eating with your hands was barbarically bueno! The actors did a good job, but the segment with the hawk was hilarious. The hawk ended up going into the stands and freaked people out, but no one was harmed. The only thing you have to watch out for is the crazy people who get wasted and ruin the show for others. Other than that, the show was excellent. A little side note: you do not have to show up an hour early unless you like to drink or tour the gift shop before the show.

Our girls ages 8 and 10 loved it. They really got into the cheering and jeering. It was fun watching them. You need not arrive as early as they tell you. It is well organized. Arriving early allows for shopping and open bar - but does not make it any better. All seating would be great. The meal is good, not amazing - but we enjoyed it. The kids loved eating with their fingers. There was a choice of pepsi, iced tea or coffee, and the open bar in the lobby remains open - but there is a cocktail waitress as well. There are lots of extras for sale - photo of your family, light up toys, etc. We will definately go again. Goldstar made it affordable for a family of 4. Thanks!!!

We went for 7:00pm show and got there about 5:45pm. I don't think you need to get there that early but it's fun to roam around and see Knighting Ceremony and check out the horses (they are beautiful).
It was our son's 9th birthday so I paid $10.50 for the announcement and he got a nice certificate. It was so precious to see his surprised face when his name was announced.
We sat at "goal post" line (so to speak) which was fun as all the knights line up in front of us to face the King. We cheered for our knight and booed for other Knights when they were close to us. If you can sit on the first row it would be the best but you can see everything from anywhere in this venue.
Food was good (the soup was really yummy) but sometime you have to eat in the dark as they turn down the light. It's amazing to see those horses and Knights' abilities. Totally recommend to anyone.

my bf and I went to the show 15 mins before it started. had no problems with parking. We liked the show so much. the food was good. They gave you tomato soup, garlic bread, half of chicken, a piece of spare ribs, a piece of apple pie. beverage: iced tea or soda and coffee..just too bad no salad. (i'm obessed with salad - but i know maybe it's me not them). the alcohol drinks are huge and on the pricey side - but good and worth it.
FYI: our sever (taylor) was nice and attentive. we gave him a big tip. so please people...tip them well...

I've been going to the Renaissance Faire for more than 30 years so comparisons were unavoidable. Just to start, early in the proceedings a request for three cheers (for a birthday girl) went up and I cried "Huzzah!" Everyone turned around and looked at me uncomprehendingly. The Renaissance Faire is certainly an American interpretation of the Elizabethan period, but this show has more in common with pro wrestling than anything else. In fact, the master of ceremonies would go all growly in the best ring side voice every time he announced a "knight". The bad news: awful acting, incomprehensible script, and something vaguely unpleasant about a "family show" where the audience cheers on bouts to death (even if it's all at the far end of fantasy.) The good news, the horses and horsemanship are first rate. Even better, the food was surprisingly good, and there was plenty of it. Our waitress, young and zaftig, and working her behind off, got a big tip from us. This is a perfect event for teenagers and birthdays, of which there seemed nothing but when were there. My 84 year old mother also had a good time. As a middle aged couple, I think my wife and I will stick to the Faire.

This event was awesome. Food could have been better, but we had excellent service and that made all the difference. Staff was extremely sweet, friendly and very outgoing. Great for younger kids (3-9). The jester added a little bit of nonchalant adult humor (that the kids would have never deciphered), so it made it entertaining for us, as well.

It was so much fun. I've been to Medieval Times several times and it never let's me down. The environment is great, you get into the action and competition. My girlfriend lost her voice because she was cheering so much. The food is good as well. There is no elbow room and can get annoying when you eat, but other than that, I recommend it.

Every one in my party loved the show, specially the little one. Everything was so well organized there was never any confusion as to what was going on. Food was great, and service friendly. Recommend this show to anyone.

My boyfriend, who is a tall guy, complained about the seats being too small for his legs. Other than that, it was a great show. It really started getting exciting when the knights were hurting each other (toward the end). Food was okay, wish I could've had another piece of garlic bread. I was expecting a turkey leg, but at least the chicken was juicy. :-P

The overall experience was good, even very good. However, it took us longer to pick up the tickets at will call (25 minutes at position 3 in line) than it did to buy them online. We were early and there weren't many people ahead of us (only 2)so it got to the point that a manager was called to will call.
They had no "envelope with tickets" system in place as is the case in every other will GoldStar will call situtation. They actually looked up everything online for about 10 minutes. It was frustrating. In the meantime we watched huge parties buy tickets and get in quicker at other windows. We ended up sitting in the last row but the view was good anyway.
Food good. Fun and entertainment great.

This was my first time at Medieval times we got great seats the show was amazing. The services was great and the food was delicous, by the way they serve you a lot of food, so bring an empty stomach. The drinks at the bar are not that great, I would stick with beer! Our knight got killed haha, but it was great over all. You get fun hats to wear, the place is great and the people are friendly.

I hadn't been to Medieval Times in at least 20 years, but decided to take my young children to this time honored tourist attraction. I was surprised how many people were there, this is still a big draw. The food was better than expected and there was a lot of it. My 3-year-old had half a chicken placed in front of her, and then ate only her normal 3 bites. The kids loved the show and the parents were entertained too. There was fighting, jousting, horse tricks, a falcon swooping above our head and lots and lots of cheering. The cast of the show was quite good. I estimate at least 40 performers, 20 horses, and 1 super cool falcon total.

The show was a lot of fun and the food was great. The Master of Ceremonies was excellent. He was very entertaining. We could see well from our seats, but we were in the last row and for some reason they sat some late arrivals in front of us. So we had to stand for the first 5 min. in order to see (which was fine because there was no one behind us). After that we enjoyed our seats. It would have been nice to be seated a little closer just to feel more involved in the cheering and interaction with the knights. Our knight was the green knight, who had a unique story-line, so it was fun being in his section. He was the most interactive with the crowd, so we felt priviledged. Our waiter was also very kind and helpful.

I heard mixed reviews for Medieval times, and I was still adamant on going so that I could see it for myself.
Don't go here hungry, there's "food" but its a couple grades below hometown buffet. The chicken was bland and dry, the rib was i guess a rib, and the rest is considered finger foods, or finger food for that matter.
The entertainment was okay, definitely an experience but not one to try twice. I was glad that my ticket was so much cheaper through the website, I would of regretted it if i had to pay full price.

We arrived late due to terrible Holiday traffic but the seats were still fine, it was an arena so we were on the last row and I did not hear any complain from my Family. We were there celebrating my Parents 35th Anniversary, unfortunately since we were late and everything went crazy we were not able to request for a greeting, but you can actually request for the Master or Ceremonies (I forgot what he was called in Medieval times) to greet your party if you are celebrating an occasion. It was fun to eat with your hands, though I wish the chicken had a little bit salt and pepper and more rib pieces, but otherwise with the discount it was a fair price. If you end up eating everything they gave you, you'll be going home full. The show was great and pretty fun, my family has pretty high standards and we left pretty happy and satisfied. If you want a table with candles - make sure you arrive early they don’t usually put candles on the end tables due to the falcon. If you want something different, I recommend this one.

We had a super good time! What a fun show! The food was good, and they even provided a vegetarian meal for my sister (complete with fork.) The entertainment in between was quite impressive as well. I would recommend this dinner show to everyone! Huzzah!

The food wasn't very impressive. I thought the arena would be outdoors. It's inside. It's a pretty neat show. Worth the money if you get them for less than full price. I probably wouldn't go again. My little 7 year old sister LOVED it. And my boyfriend thought is was pretty cool.

My Boyfriend and I had a wonderful time at Medieval Times! I have always wanted to go, but never got around to it until last night. It was a great experience. The Chicken was a little bland, and I wanted more of their Ribs! The Jousting, Sword fighting, etc. was Awesome! I wish I took my nieces and nephews. I may have to come back with them another time.

It was very fun and entertaining. Especially the price that goldstar offers the tickets for. Its amazing that we got to see a show and eat a meal for that price. We had a ver y good time. Or knight didnt win but the crowd was very motivated and we all cheered. Our waiter was excellent he way earned his tip. Our food was served very hot and fast and our drink where refilled quickly. A great event to take children to.

We got awesome seats! The service was great! The show was exciting! Our knight won in jousting and sword fighting! Show up at around 6-6:30 and u should be fine. There's not much to do before the show if you show up too early which we did and we were bored walking around. We were able to sit together even though we had a group of 9 people! Make sure you all show up together so they can seat you together as one party.

This event itself is pretty overrated. There's a lot of story set-up and little action. But the seating is fun and the food is good, although eating with our hands wasn't too sanitary. Overall it was enjoyable, but these other reviews are making a big deal out of very little.

There seem to be a lot of opinions on this event - but it ROCKED! I went with people aged 20-30 and we all had a pretty great time.
We arrived early, as required, and walked around the castle. We met the King - everywhere this guy goes all of the other workers have to bow...how the heck do you get that job!?
The beer was $7.50 for about 16 oz. in a reusable souvenir cup. I had one of those while we looked at the horses and the cool stuff hanging around the lobby. Inside the arena an earlier show was going on you could hear people screaming and cheering...how odd that you find an event that people really get into...
So that show ended and it was time for us. The King and the royal announcer get together and start the story line with us...awesome. They start getting us pumped so we cheer for our knight - the black and white knight was ours - and somehow, the staff managed to get 400 people to act like Oakland Raiders fans..screaming, cheering, the wave, booing the other teams...it was actually pretty insane.
OK so anyway...
The story line goes on we we get our food. The food wasnt bad...its not a gourmet meal but it is filling. I got tomato soup, garlic bread, HALF of a chicken, ribs, a potato, and an apple turnover.
So...yeah it was awesome.

I almost rated this a "hated it" or zero. Two items in the description are not correct. First, you do not have to arrive early to get good seats. The seats are assigned when you first arrive by the amount you pay for the tickets. If you think of the arena as a football field the discount tickets are placed in the end zone and the full price tickets are at the 50 yard line. This isn't a problem (you get what you pay for) except there are seats in the "green knight" section that have to look through a semi-transparent plexiglass shield that protects you from a lance throwing event. The reason MT asks you to arrive early is that there are several overpriced bars and gift shops that you can go thru since there is nothing else to do (there is a very small museum of torture you can see at $2 per person). Second, we were seated behind the plexiglass shield and while it technically isn't a blocked view you can't see clearly thru the shield. In our case the rest of our assigned section (which had clear views) were being taken up by the wifes of several gentleman who were getting drunk in the bar, so when we complained to management that we didn't get a chance to pick the seats with a clear view and didn't want to sit next to a bunch of drunks we were moved to better seats. Since management did move us and the food and show were good I rated the event higher. If you go and are assigned to table two in the "green knight" section be aware that your view may be obscured and in that case I would have rated it a "hated it" or zero.

To begin with the ticketing info said that the doors open 90 minutes before the dinner, so to arrive early for pre show entertainment, which is code for "pre show revenue". The pre show entertainment was a sum total of Medieval Times attempt to hock their wares to unsuspecting parents. There are several booths selling overpriced souvenirs. There are 2 knighting ceremonies. If you wish to participate in the knighting ceremony, the least expensive is $20.00. Seriously, most restaurants will do it for nothing including a free dessert, so in summation of the predinner activities, arriving 30 minutes early is plenty to get your seating, to get pictures at the door, and to look at the horses. The dinner was ok, the entertainment was good. The venue was creative and the staff good. I would have preferred less meat and some veggies with my meal. We had a vegetarian in our group, and they didn't get their meal until about 20 minutes after everyone else meaning everyone else was done eating by the time they got theirs. The entertainment was fun and the actors did a good job of exciting audience participation. The horses were beautiful, and all in all it turned out to be an enjoyable evening.

On the website, the pictures of the knights looked like they were some kind of 80s porn stars, but I am happy to say that the performers are different guys and look much better. The food was okay and the performance was cheesy, but add a whole lotta alcohol and that's one fun night!

Our 8 year old proclaimed, “This is the best thing ever!” Our 5 year old sat mesmerized, not taking her eyes off the action from when it started until it was over. She went back in line after we left saying she wanted to go again. We had them each read two age appropriate books on the era and King Arthur so they knew the plots and why they were fighting. This made it so much more exciting for each of them. They said the books came alive with the show.

We had a really good time. The kids all Loved it!! Too much food -but that was a good thing. They give you doggie bags to bring home the extra and that was definitely appreciated :) Other than wanting to sign up for an announcement, participating in one of the two knighting ceremonies, or purchasing souveniers (which you can do after the show) you really don't need to arrive an hour and a half early as some would advise. We got there @40min. beforehand and really, that was plenty time for us. The kids may have gotten restless. Also, not sure why they only served iced tea and pepsi, that was kinda weird.
Btw, we had the green knight and although he ended up being kind of a "bad" guy, he was Awesome and our group cheered the loudest and were the most energetic. That made the event so much more memorable ;]
p.s. We paid $10 to have our sons Birthday announced and that was fun, but even cooler was the official document from the king that proclaimed his special day as well. Makes for a great keepsake.

Medieval Times - Buena Park
Medieval Times celebrates its 25-year reign in North America. Medieval Times' founders first launched their unique idea for a dinner attraction on the Spanish island of Majorca in 1973. This imaginative new entertainment spot was inspired by the true medieval tradition of royal families inviting guests to a festival and feast to watch Knights compete on horseback.
During the early years in Spain, the show's authentic display of classic equestrian skills and medieval pageantry took place in outdoor arenas, a far cry from the climate-controlled castles of today. There, the conventions of today's shows were established. Guests were seated in sections named for regions of Medieval Spain and encouraged to cheer for the Knight representing their region.
As Medieval Times has grown in popularity both in Spain and North America, some things haven't changed. Like the commitment to the accuracy of weapons and costumes. Others have. The characters and storyline of the show evolve every few years, making sure it stays fresh and exciting for generations to come.
