This west coast premiere by Pearl Cleage, best-selling novelist (including an Oprah's Book Club selection) and author of The Nacirema Society, is set in an era when miniskirts and bell-bottoms are on sale for $8.87, Stevie Wonder is on the radio singing "Livin' for the City" -- and change is in the air. This play has everything in it, and it's all well done. No matter how hard you try, you will never guess where the story goes-and it is unforgettable. A thoughtful and beautiful play delivered by an able cast. One of the best plays of the year.
