Written on Oct 08 2012Crowded in the beginning but after lunch, crowds got a little lighter and could talk to some of celebrities. Celebrities there were very personable.
Written on Oct 08 2012Awesome!
Written on Oct 08 2012a lot of great stars from my favorite TV shows and movies.. It was well organized.
Written on Oct 08 2012A fun filled day of STARS, STARS and MORE STARS...
Written on Aug 11 2012I went here only to meet my one true love - Henry "the Fonz" Winkler. Totally worth the drive to Burbank! Overall I thought the event was very well organized. Every celebrity had his or her own booth. Parking was a bit of a pain since I showed up at 1, but I eventually found a spot. (P.S. parking is $3/15 minutes. I'm highly against paying for parking, so if you're daring, park at the Chipotle across the street.) Oh! All of the celebrities charge for autographs and photos, so have cash on you. If you go to the Hollywood Show's website, you can view how much everyone charges.
Written on Aug 07 2012Just go! It is awesome!
Written on Aug 06 2012The ONLY reason I went was to see Virginia Madsen and found out when I arrived that she (along with many others) had cancelled. So, from now on, I will buy my ticket at the very last minute. The show organizers should give a partial refund when these "name" renig. I'm sick of it. Patty Duke has cancelled the past two times.
Written on Aug 06 2012We had so much fun! This time was a good mix-up of classic and young hollywood celebrities. Definitely going to be a tradition for me and my friends to attend this everytime!
Written on Aug 06 2012A lot of the stars that were supposed to be there cancelled, so there weren't as many stars there as in the past (probably half). And a lot of the celebrities started leaving early--about 2 pm. I have gone in the past and there were many more celebrities and it was a lot more fun.
Written on Aug 06 2012I was looking forward to the event. It was interesting. I wish I could have taken pictures.
But everyone wanted to be paid $20- $25.00 for
that privilege (one woman yelled at someone "Hey you have to pay for pictures). and parking at $3.00 per half hour put a damper on the event.
Written on Aug 06 2012Free is a fair price , so it's churlish to complain. It's sort of depressing in a "Day of the Locust"-y kind of way -- there was, for me, an undertone of sadness throughout. Hollywood eats its product and this show kind of flourishes on the whatever-happened-to byproduct. We actually heard someone ask one of the former performers whatever happened to them -- one needs to leave their dignity at home when going into showbiz. When we got there, there were very few people; and it's really just a convention with sales opportunities -- it costs 40 bucks, for instance, to pose for a picture with the former celebrities, and every booth is about sales. We spent maybe 20 minutes and it was a diversion after breakfast. That's it. Also, the Marriott charges 14 bucks to park; we had no problem parking on the street and walking a few blocks.
Written on May 14 2012It's pretty disappointing when the person you go to see doesn't show up! I went to meet Henry Winkler, but he wasn't there. What a bummer.
Written on Apr 29 2012This was held on my Birthday and it made my day most memorable with my favorite stars and friends to celebrate with, The Sound of Music Cast of Children was the main reason I attended and the cast of Laverne and Shirley was so great to be able to meet in person and chat just a few minutes with David and Company really work hard to make this a successful show, I attend this show at least twice a year and make the most of a Wonderful day out. The travel is minimal to get there, from Nevada.
Written on Apr 24 2012We have been attending this event since the beginning many many years ago. We remember when parking was free, now it is $15.00. The celebrities used to charge $5.00 - 10.00 for an autograph and $5.00 to take a picture of yourself with the celebrity. People would come in droves... it used to be a lot of fun, but Now an autograph is $20.00 - 50.00 or more and it is $25.00+ to take a picture with a celebrity. In my opinion, this celebrity event has priced itself out. I don't see this event continuing much longer. The dealers are complaining that because of the raise in admission, charging for parking and the celebrities raising their prices for autographs and pictures that they are barely selling anything. Most of the dealers are really hurting for business. It is really sad.
Written on Apr 23 2012Well organized. The celebrities seem to enjoy the crowd.
Written on Apr 23 2012It was fun seeing some of the older stars. Also, this particular show had many childhood stars such as the Brady kids and the actors playing the Von Trap Family from Sound of music. It was intersting seeing them as adults and finding out what they are doing now. The autograph and picture prices seemed a bit high, but I'm not a big autograph collector. A few vendors had some great hollywood memoribilia, and I was able to get some great deals. Goldstar had their own table at check in, so we didn't have to wait in the long line to get wristbands, which was great.
Written on Apr 23 2012It was my first time and I didn't know what to expect. My friend & I had so much fun trying to figure out who's who. I just wished there were more younger artists that are easily recognized. We would come back again.
Written on Apr 23 2012had a great time. quite organized for the very long lines.
Written on Apr 23 2012I have been to this show for years, and it is not as great as it used to be. The show is under new management and it shows. The lines to meet each Sound of Music cast member were in a bad spot (over on the side where there was no room). Was told to wait in line for ONE HOUR while the cast did their overpriced photos w/the fans. Got yelled at by Penny Marshall for taking her picture (we are allowed to take their pictures-we have to pay if we pose with the star). Garry Marshall was absent from his spot for most of the day. There is no food sold in the lobby now, so we have to walk outside the venue to eat. In the future, I will attend only if there is an "A-list" celeb that I haven't met yet. And the "A-listers" are getting to be more far and between.
Written on Apr 23 2012Had a great time! HUGE show this time -- enjoyed meeting the celebrities, chatting with friends, etc. Best of all was Little Bear -- the dog from the movie First Dog -- a true star!! :-)
Written on Apr 23 2012I have been to this show many times and it is always a lot of fun. Be sure to go with another person or with a group as it makes taking photos easier and it's just more fun wandering around with someone you know. It's fun meeting icons from my youth and most celebrities are super friendly. It can get expensive, so pick your photo opps carefully. many of the celebs are there for a charity organization which makes it even nicer. Can't wait for the next show this summer.
Written on Apr 23 2012We had a great time. All the c
Written on Apr 16 2012Mostly old folks who may have been celebrities in the past. I had the feeling that everyone of them viewed anyone else as a prospective buyer of his/her autograph and/or photo(s). Unsettling as far as I'm concerned.
Written on Feb 17 2012I bought the tickets mostly for my boyfriend. I am not as much into "Stars" and autographs. The vendors were all the same. Everything is orgarnized by Stars, so if you want Movie stuff, you have to look under each star. It was ok....
Written on Feb 16 2012Not interesting at all! In the past they had a few
known actors, however now mostly Hollywood memorbilia.
Written on Feb 14 2012Better lineup of celebrities than in the past. Hope they can keep it up in the future. Only downside was all the filming by the reality show people.
Written on Feb 13 2012First time I went and wont be the last. I'm not a fan of crowds but I was comfortable with the amount of people that were there. It was great fun and the celebrities were very friendly. Did not have to wait in line very long to meet any of them as the lines moved swiftly. Looking forward to the next one.
Written on Feb 13 2012It was extremely crowded. Could not navagate through the crowd as I had on preveious occassions. Not as many known stars as in previous shows.
Written on Feb 13 2012I attended this event about 10 years ago. It seems much larger now and in a different venue. It was a real trip seeing all those stars after so many years - lots I didn't recognize and lot's I did recognize. I would say to go early because it gets very crowded as the day goes on. It's really fun to get so up-close and personal with these famous faces.
Written on Feb 13 2012Great! Well organized. Great value. I want to go again!
Written on Feb 13 2012Event is always fun. You never know who you might see there.
Written on Oct 11 2011Always a good time--getting more and more organized as they go on--
Written on Oct 10 2011Had a great time, Meeting Carol Channing, Julie Newmar, was such an honor along with 70 other celebrities. I don't know of any other venue that you can do this, The Hollywood Show always delivers the best and is a great event and the staff is always very efficient and friendly.
Written on Jul 19 2011Great event!
Written on Jul 18 2011The October show was great, lots of celebrities, and the tribute to the original Posiedon Adventure movie was fun. I attend this event everytime and I always enjoy it .Some of the repeat celebrities from past shows even made it more special.
Written on Jul 18 2011The memorabilia was interesting and seeing the people was, too, but the set-up was awkward. There should have been a rep or organizer at each celeb's area bec. people didn't know how to approach or talk to the actors--each celeb acted differently so there was no way to know what to do or what to say. There should have been a video or something introducing these people that played at each desk--it was too haphazard.
Written on Jul 18 2011A lot of the celebrities did not appear on Sunday. It was not very busy, so we got a chance to meet and talk to the stars that were in attendance. Unfortunately it was lunch time wen we got there so a lot of the stars were on lunch break and we didn't get to see them. We did the whole show in a little over an hour.
Written on Jul 18 2011Great fun! Almost everyone that was on the list was there and it was a great mix. Had lots of friends there and enjoyed the day!!
Written on Jul 18 2011I had never heard of an autograph show before, so went with a friend who was familiar with them. The parking lot was packed, the venue was nice, and it was so great to see the stars from my childhood that I went back the next day! I'll go to the next one, too.
Written on Jul 18 2011If you like nostalgia--also some current stars-then you should really attend--also, vendors with some great memorabilia--most of the celebs are nice and appreciate you being there-be ready to spend some cash as they all charge for autos.
Written on Jul 18 2011THIS SHOW IS THE BEST TO SEE STARS AND PURCHASE ALL KINDS OF MOVIE TV RELATED ITEMS!
Written on May 31 2011The Hollywood Show is a great way for a classic film fan to buy beautiful stills, lobby cards, inserts, posters...you name it. I was able to buy some lovely photos of silent film stars, and got a great discount from a dealer because I bought several items. I will go again, and I will recommend this to collector friends.
Written on Apr 07 2011I enjoyed this event very much as always, Some of the great stars of history were there and to be able to walk up to the table and say hello is the greatest . Each star offers a wide selection of photos to choose from and the fee for these autographs goes to a good cause. Autograph and photo collectors should not miss this event. Have been to this show many times and always enjoy it.
Written on Apr 05 2011I never miss it - and always love it!
Written on Feb 15 2011This was our fourth time attending the Hollywood Show, We always have a great time, On Sunday Actor Robert Blake showed up in the late afternoon and gave Free color autographed photos for a limited time to his fans. Had fun talking to and meeting all the celebrities. This is a class act event and should not be missed.
Written on Oct 12 2010It was a good group discount for us and we werent aware of the event, until Goldstar notified us.
Thank you,
Written on Oct 11 2010We enjoyed this October show, A large attendance of celebrities and the cast from several television shows and movies, this event was very well organized and we will be going to many of the future shows
Written on Oct 11 2010This is exactly as presented. Remember to dress nicely as you can have your photo taken with the celebrities/stars. The most expensive at this show was Barbara Eden but remember all her proceeds go to charity. The designer of the Genii bottle had huge show discounts if your into that sort of thing. There's a mix of B listers and former A listers as well as some musicians like Peter Tork and Mickey Dolenz of the Monkees and Billy J Kramer and David Somerville (lead singer of the Diamonds) If you're into celebrities, taking photos and collecting autographs this is a worthwhile event.
Written on Oct 11 2010I went both days. Saturday was very crowded and it was hard to approach any of the celebrities. Sunday there were a lot less people and the celebrities seemed a lot friendlier. Photos, autographs and books were very expensive. The admission fee should at least include a few autographs.
Written on Jul 27 2010Pretty much as described here by others. Some stars did leave early (Kay Ballard after only 2 hours). Some didn't show at all (Angie Dickenson). But it was well worth the money for the chat time and the one star my friend paid $25 ($20 for autograph and $5 for photos, a combined rate) allowed multiple photos, hugs and was amazingly nice which made the event very fun. Seeing Mamie Van Doren was great (she looks amazing for her age). Peter Marshall, Barbara Feldon, it was all fun. Contrary to other reviews, parking maxed out at only $14 (cheap if you've ever parked in a downtown highrise) and our rate was only $6.00. So we thought is was fine.
Written on Jul 26 2010I went to the Hollywood Show last year and there were a lot more celebs that were a lot younger and well known. Maybe it was a bad weekend because of ComicCon. I still got to meet a lot of nice people, especially Gregory Harrison and Joe Lando. Hopefully next year it will be on a weekend that didn't conflict with ComicCon.
Written on Apr 26 2010Had a great time and was able to talk with and shake hands with most of the celebrities, the staff of the event were great and very organized, no waiting to get in.. It was fun to celebrate Cloris Leachman's 84th Birthday at the event, almost everyone listed was available at the event. Including Ron Jeremy that attended the show. Prices were a little steep for autographs and photos.
Written on Apr 26 2010Fun all around. Saving a few dollars on the admission was great. I am a regular at the event. Where else but Hollywood? I hope you continue to list this event.
Written on Apr 26 2010A little bit expensive, as you have to pay for each individual autograph and picture, but I had a really good time. I was able to meet two of my favorite classic actresses - Margaret O'Brien and Rose Marie. I don't think I would have had that opportunity anywhere else! I can't wait for the next show in July!
Written on Apr 26 2010It was OK but I was pretty disappointed. I got there at 12:30pm and many of the big stars such as Ryan & Tatum O'Neal had already left. After paying an admission, I think it is outrageous that you are not allowed to snap a photo of the star (even from a distance) without paying a $20+ to do so. If major celebrities leave two hours after the event begins, our money should have been returned.
