This was like a bad high school performance. The direction, staging, acting, sound, lighting and music were all embarrassing. Very disappointing. We left during Intermission.

Lively, great dancing, great singing. A dynamic group, well worth the time!

Description

During the time when De Silva’s concept was taking shape, the High School for the Performing Arts underwent its own major transformation.  In 1984, the school merged with the High School of Music and Art to create what is now known as the Fiorello La Guardia School of the Arts.  The new school, much larger and somewhat less personal than it’s predecessor, was relocated to a modern facility adjacent to the Lincoln Center. De Silva chose to use the final years of the old landmark building as the time frame for his new musical, following the progress of the last class to graduate.
